Join Asia House for a networking reception to bid farewell to Peter Wilson, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Asia Pacific Director, before he takes a senior diplomatic post in New York.
Asia House networking receptions provide excellent opportunities to mingle with representatives from business and government in both Asia and the UK. Hosted in our beautiful Georgian fine rooms, Asia House hosts a variety of these events throughout the year - including, most recently, our Annual Reception with Asian and British Heads of Mission, a reception in honour of Sir David Warren, former British Ambassador to Japan, and the launch of the Mongolian Business and Trade Council, with former Mongolian Ambassador, HE Mr Bulgaa Altangerel.
Peter Wilson has been Asia Pacific Director in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since November 2010, covering North and South East Asia, and Australasia from London. Before that he worked in China on trade in the mid 90s, and as Political Counsellor in Beijing from 2007 - 2010. He was a member of Trade Commissioner Leon Brittan’s cabinet in 1999, and then ran the European Parliament team at the UK Representation to the EU in Brussels for three years. He was posted as Political Counsellor in Islamabad for two years, 2005 and 2006. He has a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School, and a BA in Modern History from Oxford University.
