The past, present and future of human and animal genetics.
About this event
2019 marks 100 years since the founding of the Genetics Society and 100 years of Animal Genetics at the University of Edinburgh. To celebrate these anniversaries, join us to hear about human and animal genetics over the past century, and to discuss the issues facing science and society as we look forward to the next 100 years.
Hosted by Dr Sarah Chan, a specialist in the ethics of medical and animal research, the event will start with presentations from three leading University of Edinburgh genetics researchers about genetics on the farm, in the field and in families.
The talks will be followed by a discussion around what we know now, what we could find out and what we should do with the information in the future.
Join the conversation about this exciting and fast-moving area of science.
