Susannahs Sews mission is to promote community cohesion and awareness through the power of craft (or ‘craftivism’), across a variety of principles. Visually communicated practice-based politics forms the foundation of the entire range which is infused with overlapping messages surrounding the politics of; environmental issues, intersectional feminism and queer theory/practice and mental health. Contributing towards the resolution of inequalities through interactive workshops for young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and access to the arts. Using fashion theory, specifically craftivism as a means of visually communicating identities and creating/forming/establishing communities.
