Fashion at the Museum
Mon 14 November 2016, 10:00 – 15:00 GMT
Fashion and Style, one of our new galleries at the museum, is the inspiration for this unique event. Hear from our curator about the social and cultural influences on key pieces within the gallery. Designers will also talk about the materials, techniques and technology used in their work. A series of workshops and drop-in activities will also allow pupils to explore issues such as body image, creativity, and careers linked to the fashion industry.
This event is aimed at S4-S6 pupils undertaking a National Qualification or Higher in Art and Design. It is only open to pupils studying in Scotland. Pupils should be accompanied by an adult.
Each person attending requires a ticket, this includes pupils, teachers and any additional adult helpers/support assistants. There are 4 wheelchair spaces in the Auditorium. If any of your pupils/adults need a wheelchair space, then please book an appropriate ticket for them.
As this event runs all day, we will automatically set aside space in our lunchroom for your pupils. Please note that apart from the cafes, this is the only space in the museum where pupils are allowed to eat.
Entry for this event will be via the Lothian Street entrance.
Bookings open on the 17 August 2016.
