Description

All Muslims know that fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam, and non-Muslims are increasingly aware of Ramadan from the media, and from special shopping displays in the major supermarkets.

However, many people know little about fasting in faiths other than their own.

One of the Conservative Muslim Forum’s nine objectives as set out in our constitution is “Work to maintain and build bridges with all communities and religions within the United Kingdom.

That is why we have organised this event about fasting in six different religious traditions. Listed alphabetically:

  • Baha’i
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
  • Hinduism
  • Islam
  • Judaism

Date: Tuesday 18 June 2019. Please allow at least 20 minutes to get through security.

Time: 18:30 for speeches beginning at 19:00

Our speakers will be:

CMF President Lord Sheikh, our Parliamentary host, will introduce the evening.

There will be ample time for questions from the audience.
