Event description
A fortnightly online Father's Circle, open to anyone identifying as a father or considering fatherhood.

About this Event

A place to share and hear from other dads about how they are finding the joys and challenges of fatherhood right now, and go a bit deeper into what it means to be a father in these mad times!

The main circle runs from 8-9:30, and the basic format will be an open sharing followed by small group discussion in breakout rooms on a particular question / theme, then a final check out.

The room will then be left open for 15 minutes at the end for anyone who would like to continue chatting and connecting informally.

Core principles:

1) Confidentiality - what is shared in this circle stays in the circle. You may share broadly the themes of what was discussed but no names or specifics.

2) Non judgement - this is a place to share our own experiences , speaking from the 'I', and listen to others, rather than to offer advice / opinions on other other father's situation. You are welcome to reach out to other fathers to arrange separate chats if you'd like to offer or request this.

3) Respect - Sharing relationship difficulties and challenging experiences with coparents is welcome but misogyny / sexism will not be tolerated, nor will other forms of prejudice.

These circles are in part research and preparation for Father Figures, a 6 month peer led learning programme launching later this year with social enterprise Enrol Yourself. Find out more about this and request an info pack here:

Tickets for each circle are sold on a donation basis - recommended £3 - £15 depending on your financial situation. All donations will go towards paying for bursary places on the Father Figures programme. Money should not be a barrier to attending however, so please drop me an email at if you cannot donate this time (or have any other questions about the circle).

A few testimonials:

'Any dad knows that being a father is not straightforward. There are so many layers to it, some are blissful and others less so. Sam holds an honest space where fathers of all types can come and share and connect with other fathers in a meaningful way, allowing us to be heard and to reflect on what it means to be a dad. It feels really good to know that I’m not the only one going through this rollercoaster journey of fatherhood !'

'In all honesty I was sceptical at first but this was what I had been subconsciously crying out for. Sam is very respectful, open and warm... I very quickly felt comfortable enough to share a lot of what I had been storing up and bottling and it felt enlightening to be able to talk so freely and that is for the most part down to how relaxed the group and especially Sam as the holder made me feel. I would 120% recommend it to any fathers who may want to share or just listen to other fathers struggles'
