FILLES A VELO MEETS FIFE CYCLE PARK

We are very excited to be able to bring you our first session of 2018 at the brand new Fife Cycle Park on the 11th February 2018.

Please read all the details very carefully to ensure you sign up for the session that suits you the best.

To get your cycling off to an amazing start in 2018, we are hosting yet another fabulous coaching opportunity for women of all confidences and abilities.

Fife Cycle Park is a brand new, custom designed cycle circuit built to meet the needs of the developing cyclist. This traffic free circuit offers us a fantastic and unique training area that will provide us with all we need to give you a carefree, enjoyable and challenging coaching session with women at the same stage of cycling as you.

As we are in a new facility, we are going to do things a little differently.

In the morning we will deliver an introduction to group riding and rider development session (beginner).

In the afternoon we will deliver an intermeidate and advanced rider developmment session following by a 'race ready' workshop.

Please read this section carefully before signing up for the morning OR the afternoon sessions. As we now have access to Fife Cycle Park on a regular basis we can now plan progressive sessions for throughout the season so you can develop over the course of the year.

The morning session will begin at 9am until 12noon.

This session is designed for women who would like their first experience of riding in a group, to learn how to ride efficiently, use gears effectively, ride happily in close proximity of other riders and improve on all basic riding essential techniques including cornering, braking, climbing and descending at speed.

Who is this most suited for?

This session is most suited for new riders, returning cyclists, Breeze riders (non club riders), anyone siging up for their first sportive in 2018 or got their first road bike from Santa! anyone wishing to develop their confidence in a group or on their own. You may also wish to learn to ride clipped in if this is new to you. You may have participate in sportives but feel that you would benefit from riding within a group for a better, more efficient experience.

*On completion of the morning session, some riders may feel ready to join the intermeidate session in the afternoon. You can discuss this with your coach on the day and pay £10 in cash to continue your day.

The afternoon session will begin at 1pm until 5pm (riding until 4pm)

This session is designed for riders who would like to develop their skills to 'race ready' standard (whether you choose to race or not). You will work hard on your group and bunch riding skills, cornering at speed and develop techniques for highly efficient group riding. IF you have specific requests we can accomodate these, just let us know in advance. This will also give you the unique opportunity to work out the race lines on the new circuit setting you up nicely for the coming new session and events at FCP.

Who is this most suited for?

The afternoon session is designed for intermediate and advanced riders. INTERMEDIATE You are most likely in a club, you may be a frequent event participant in various discilpines such as road, cross, tri or sportives. You may have participated in FAV sessions before at this level or the introductory level so are now ready to move up. ADVANCED - you are racing frequently, comfortable riding in a group and understand how to ride/race in a bunch. You may have attended several FAV sessions and are ready to progress from Intermediate group riding skills to advanced race techniques and tactics. Youi have participated in coached sessions either in your club or with FAV.

Race Ready Workshop ( 4-5pm)

The race ready workshop will take place directly after the intermeidate/advanced session. This will give us all an opportunity to share hints and tips as well as introduce any potential newbie racers to the whats and hows for racing either on the road or in Crits such as those at FCP. By the end of this we will all be hyped up and eager to racer whether it's your first ever or returning for yet another amazing session here in Scotland's growning race scene for awesome women!

Who ever you are, if you ride a bike - there's something for you! Don't hesitate sign up today, then get your pals to sign up too! The more the merrier.
