Who can attend?

Anyone with a cancer diagnosis and a fear of cancer coming back or spreading is very welcome to attend, as well as their friends and family members.

I am a healthcare professional, can I attend?

Unfortunately this event is only for people with a cancer diagnosis and their loved ones. If you are a healthcare professional supporting patients to manage fear of cancer recurrence, you can visit https://www.cancernetwork.com/view/fear-cancer-recurrence-practical-guide-clinicians

Where can I find the workshop?

The workshop will take place at Newham Hospital (nearest station: Plaistow is a 23-minute walk and there are a number of buses you can take). Follow the signs to Zone 2 and you will see the door to the Education Centre; follow the signs to Seminar Room 2, which is accessible for wheelchair use.

Will there be refreshments?

We are hoping to be able to provide some basic refreshments such as hot water, teabags, instant coffee and milk. We may be able to bring some snacks if we can!

What will the workshop be like? Do I have to participate?

The workshop will last around 2.5 hours including a 10-15 minute break. There will be a presentation, skills you can practice and opportunities for discussion. You don't have to speak if you don't want to, but we would encourage you to engage in practicing skills so you can make the most out of it.

What if I am not able to attend?

If you can't attend, please let us know in advance by calling 0203 765 8807 or emailing cancerpsychologicals.bartshealth@nhs.net so that we give your spot to someone else. We might make contact with you a few days before the workshop to confirm your attendance.

Will you let my medical team know I attended?

If your cancer care is with Barts Health we will make a brief note of your attendance in your healthcare records.
