Event description

Description

Fear(less)

Fear protected our ancestors from threats that would otherwise often result in life and death consequences.

In our modern day we often feel fear in situations where the stakes might be lower but physically and mentally we can still treat a thread as lethal. This can trigger an extreme fight-flight or freeze response.

Anxiety is physiological thus it can be lessened or worsened by the ways you cope with it.

The 7th of February we’ll discuss fear that doesn’t necessarily correlate with a clear or obvious danger but could have been induced by trauma or disease. Do we best find ways to let get go of our fears or should we rather expose ourself to our demons?

We would like you to join us in our journey to create a positive awareness of mental health on a personal, interpersonal and community level. You are invited to share your thoughts on how fear affects our minds.

A relaxing and interactive evening with inspirational talks from researchers and experts on how fear changes our behavior.

Researchers, clinical psychologists, experts, but also the audience will discuss our innate need for fear but also how we can manage it when it threatens us feeling confortable. The expert panel will share their view with the audience, being the experts by experience.
We're looking forward to this fifth edition of :

Psychology Unwrapped hosted by the Student Hotel Maastricht!

We will start the evening at 19:00. The doors will open for registration at 18:45.

This event is supported by Oh my Mood, Telepsy and Lionarons GGZ.
