Feb First Tuesday Network: Satisfaction in Your Work isn't About Passion!
Event Information
About this Event
This First Tuesday meeting will be a time for us to first listen to a short clip from Cal Newport where he explains why he believes being satisfied in your work isn't about your passions, but rather about mastering skills, connections with people, doing something that is valued by others.
We will then discuss this and whether we agree with him and talk about our own experiences and thoughts as sole traders or in our businesses. We will look at if this will affect us going forward.
This meeting will involve discussions in groups.
You're invited you to join us, and like-minded others to do some thinking, exploring, & talking about what matters to us at work.
Emma Torrance, owner of THiNK will be hosting tonight’s network. She has a SFEDI practitioners qualification in advising businesses & specialised in Social Enterprise, and has worked with many freelancers, private businesses and social enterprises. Emma works with people providing mentoring, business advice and workshops.
Who should come?
It is for those wanting to think about what matters to them in their work and how they might get more satisfaction in what they do.
Our event will be held online via zoom.
This network is about providing a supportive space for helping socially-minded people to share ideas and develop as sole traders or businesses. It is for those wanting to think about some ethical and value based business issues and for those that want to incorporate their values in their business or do good in their business. The First Tuesday network is run by THiNK, and runs on the First Tuesday of the month and we collect £5.50 towards costs.
