Essential information before booking

Please be aware that the feeding your demons work can be deeply healing but is not therapy. For the practice to be an effective and beneficial tool it is essential that you have the resources to take responsibility for your own physical and mental health and well being. We ask you therefore to please get in touch with us before booking to discuss any physical or mental health issues that you think could affect your engagement with this practice; this is so that we can help you to have as positive and beneficial experience of this work as possible.

Feeding Your Demons

Feeding Your Demons is a “psycho-spiritual” process derived from the ancient Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd. Instead of trying to overcome our ‘demons’ using force or aggression, we develop a compassionate attitude and make offerings to them, imagining that we are feeding them in order that they may become our allies and not our enemies.

“The process of feeding our demons is a method for bringing our shadow into consciousness and accessing the treasures it holds rather than repressing it. If the shadow is not made conscious and integrated, it operates undercover, becoming the saboteur of our best intentions, as well as causing harm to others. Bringing the shadow into awareness reduces its destructive power and releases the life energy stored in it. By befriending that which scares us most, we find our own wisdom.” - from the book Feeding Your Demons by Lama Tsultrim Allione

The practice has five steps, which take you through the entire process of transforming demons into allies, whereby the energy that is caught up in inner conflict becomes liberated and available to us as a resource.
