Event description

Description

We are very pleased to confirm that the next FEIFA Masterclass Seminar will be held in Brussels on Thursday 7th November 2019, venue tbc.

This event is for advisers and staff of FEIFA-member firms. If you are not such an individual but wish to attend please contact us.

As always, the presentations will be professional development sessions, not product pushes. It will be a genuine training and educational seminar in keeping with past Masterclasses, and will last for about 3 hours. We are able to issue FEIFA CPD certificates to our members for this event.

The subject matter will be highly relevant and timely - and, as in the past, will cover major industry and market issues. The presentations include (this is not the running order, it is simply an alphabetical list):

Bourse: “Are QROPS dead?”
This presentation opens a discussion on the evolution of pensions, focusing on QROPS, the Trustees role, where we are today, what are the benefits (if any!)? It examines the future for offshore pensions and long-term savings. Are pensions still relevant today, if so, how do we make them more accessible? Is flexible access a good thing?

Fidelity: “The beast from the east - review, rethink, reallocate?”
We live in the Asian century. China’s emergence has been the defining feature of the global economy and India is coming next. With over half of the world’s population, ongoing urbanisation and a growing middle class, Asia powers around half of the global economy at PPP. Yet the region remains under-represented in overall portfolios. Fidelity challenges why this is.

Marlborough: “Boris, Brexit and Beyond - how Multi-Asset investing solves the ‘safe harbour’ problem”
Short-term political and economic ‘noise’ can persuade advisers to re-allocate investments, simply to keep fearful investors happy. But timing never works - this presentation will show how to demonstrate your portfolios can weather the most serious storms, yet still produce long-term higher returns with lower risk.

Moneyrebel: details to follow

Novia Global: “International SIPP – why now?”
Novia will review the key developments and legislation changes that have impacted international pension transfers over the past decade and explain why QROPS volumes have fallen from their peak in 2015. He will also give details on how International SIPP schemes based on cutting edge platform technology are well-placed to now capitalise on these changes and the advantages and efficiencies that these will bring for both you and your clients.

Schroders: “Intergenerational Wealth Transfer: considerations for your clients and your business”
It's predicted that trillions of pounds of assets will be passed down between generations in the next 20 years. This session will consider what that will look like, and how advisers can: support their clients with potentially difficult conversations surrounding inheritance planning and the transfer of wealth; maximise the opportunity of wealth transfer, retention of the next generation of potential clients and support their needs; identify the impact which the transfer of wealth might have on their business; recognise how this potential opportunity relates to their own succession plans and investment solutions used within their business.

Registration will open at 09:30am with tea and coffee available. The presentations themselves will run from 10:00am to approximately 1:00pm with a complimentary lunch to follow.

The event has been designed for the requirements of the advisers and support staff of our member firms based in the region. We therefore hope that you will be able to support it and look forward to seeing you at the Seminar.
