Event description

Description

We are very pleased to confirm that the next FEIFA Masterclass Seminar will be held in or near to Brussels on Thursday 13th February 2020, venue to be confirmed.

This event is for advisers and staff of FEIFA-member firms. If you are not such an individual but wish to attend please contact us.

As always, the presentations will be professional development sessions, not product pushes. It will be a genuine training and educational seminar in keeping with past Masterclasses, and will last for about 3 hours. We are able to issue FEIFA CPD certificates to our members for this event.

The subject matter will be highly relevant and timely - and, as in the past, will cover major industry and market issues.

Please find below a short summary of the presentations for the upcoming Masterclass. Please note, this is not the running order, it is simply alphabetical by company.

Dynamic Planner: “Fund risk assessment – just how fit for purpose is your suitability process?”
EU investment suitability regulation requires the matching of portfolio recommendations to the client’s risk tolerance, capacity and experience. If this process relies solely on past fund performance data, then there are serious flaws that could potentially lead to inappropriate consumer outcomes and significant business risks for advisory firms and advisers. This presentation will explore the merits of a forward-looking investment risk model alternative and its application for the provision of a robust fund risk profiling service, calibrated in a meaningful way to the client’s agreed risk mandate.

Novia Global: “Multi-currency considerations for expat clients”
Novia will use examples to review real-life currency volatility that has occurred over the past decade and explain why a multi-currency investment strategy would have sheltered expat clients from losses that would otherwise have been incurred. The presentation will also provide details on how international investment platforms & SIPP schemes, based on cutting edge technology, are now well-placed to capitalise on such strategies, and the efficiencies that these will bring going forwards for both advisers and their clients.

OneLife: Life assurance “made in Luxembourg”
Luxembourg is a leading international centre chosen by investors from all over the world. OneLife delves deeper into the advantages of Luxembourg’s dynamic wealth insurance segment, which helps wealthy individuals and families manage their assets, mobility across jurisdictions and succession planning. Simply put: Flexibility; Security; Portability.

Schroders: “Global Cities & defining trends of the 21st century”
Urbanisation is one of the most defining trends of the 21st century and the importance of Global Cities continues to strengthen. Such cities have a strong infrastructure, diverse pools of talent, world-leading universities and high levels of economic activity; providing ideal environments for real asset investment, as people, knowledge and economic activity are clustered in these urban areas. Schroders believes that there are opportunities to exploit such developments for investors’ long-term benefit. This presentation will focus on areas of investable change, concluding that Global Cities hold the key to the future.

Registration will open at 09:30am with tea and coffee available. The presentations themselves will run from 10:00am to approximately 1:00pm with a complimentary lunch to follow.

The event has been designed for the requirements of the advisers and support staff of our member firms based in the region. We therefore hope that you will be able to support it and look forward to seeing you at the Seminar.
