Event description

Description

Commonly referred to as the "small fell" course (and what used to be called CS31); we'll be covering H&S, basic felling cut for upright trees and how to deal with 'weighted' trees. We'll also be dealing with hung-up trees in a safe and appropriate manner, branch removal on conifer / broadleaf trees, cutting to a specification and stacking.

You will need to hold either CS30 or the new Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting before attending this course.

PLEASE NOTE: you are paying a deposit for one place on this course.

Total cost: £545.00 (includes all tuition, assessor, City & Guilds registration and administration fees). The deposit fee of £50 will be deducted from the total course cost.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

You must be 17 or over to attend this course.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

If you will be using public transport then there is a train station at Haslemere. There is a bus service from Haslemere train station out to Grayswood, it’s the Stagecoach 70 service which leaves the train station at 07.24 and arrives at Grayswood at 07.30 or better still the 08.34 which comes to Grayswood at 08.40. Return journey from Grayswood back to the station is 22 minutes past the hour to get to the station at 30 minutes past the hour.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please dress appropriately for the weather as you'll be outside all week! Also, don't forget your lunch and something [non-alcoholic!] to drink.

As you will be operating a chainsaw, you must bring your own PPE (chainsaw trousers, chainsaw boots, chainsaw gloves, helmet with mesh visor and ear defenders).

Please bring your own chainsaw, ideally fitted with a 15" / 380mm bar.

Drivelink Training can provide fuel, oil, maintenance equipment and felling equipment - of course, you are free to bring your own but don't worry if you do not have these items.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Phone David Vickers on 0790 067 7715, or contact Drivelink Training via http://www.drivelinktraining.co.uk/contact.html
