Event description
We're joined by Rachel Thain Gray, Feminist Museum Practitioner and Researcher, to talk about how past feminist activism can shape our work

About this event

Space Invaders groups across the UK are taking on the big issues of women's equality in museums but what do we know about the history of this action? How have the women before us carved out paths of feminist activism in museum institutions?

In this session we look at the activist techniques used by feminists during 20th and 21st century. We consider the barriers they faced, and the persistence of unequal conditions for women across gender identity, race, sexuality, class, disability and nationality. How can we as feminists learn from historical action to shift the status quo in the present and for future?

Tickets are free but donations help us to pay speakers, removing barriers to participation. If you are able to contribute, we would appreciate your support.
