Event description
Feminist Book Club in Glasgow Zooming during Covid - all welcome

About this event

If you are a fan of equality and want to learn more about historical feminists, literature from around the world and smashing the patriarchy then join FBC!

We are an informal book club with a focus on feminist authors and books. Future reads are set by the group. Before Covid-19 books could be collected for free from the Mitchell Library, but right now we are trying to share books and asking you to source yourself where possible. You may also be able to get a copy via reopened Glasgow Libraries.

Current reads and dates are:

  • A Decolonial Feminism by Françoise Vergès on 2nd November at 7pm - on Zoom again (lets hope its our last Zoom!) Updates will be here and on our Instagram!

Previous reads include Beloved by Toni Morrison, Being Emily by Anne Donnovan, Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez, Testaments by Margaret Atwood, Becoming by Michelle Obama, The Good Immigrant by Nikesh Shukla, My Autobiography of Carson McCullers: A Memoir by Jenn Shapland, Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo, Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay, The Burning by Laura Bates, Difficult Women by Helen Lewis, Headscarves and Hymens: Why the Middle East Needs a Sexual Revolution by Mona Eltahawy and Watermelon by Marian Keyes
