Event description

What is a 'Research Meet'?

Like TeachMeets but with a focus on practitioner research! #FEResearchMeets are for those working in all parts of post compulsory education - sixth form colleges, further education colleges, adult and community education, prisons, and training providers.

#FEResearchMeets are democratically run conference events that offer teachers, lecturers and other staff roles from further education and wider PcET the opportunity to share their research or practitioner enquiry with others or to hear from others about their research and projects. Presenters come from a broad section of the further education community and what they all have in common is a passion for researching their own practice and working in an evidence informed way to improve teaching and learning and to collaborate with others. We will explore the research, practice and ideas emerging within the sector, for the sector. The event will seek to reflect the priorities for the sector and showcase innovations.

Where and when?

The venue is University of South Wales, the date is Thursday 12th December 2019, 5.30pm-7.30pm (Registration from 5.00pm).

What is the format?

You will hear from a key note speaker on their current or recent research and you will hear from at least 3-4 presenters. The presenters pitch their research, innovation or theme for their session and participants then select one of those sessions to attend during the meet. All of the presenters are practitioners, teachers, lecturers or tutors within the post compulsory education and training sector.

Who is the event for?

We welcome staff from further education colleges, sixth form colleges, prisons, training providers, and adult and community education as either participants and/or presenters.

Want to present? Got something to share?
