Event Details

Eating hyper-processed global foods is having a negative effect on our bodies, plastic consumption and mental health, while fueling capitalist business and the climate crisis. Fortunately, pickles and ferments are having a cultural revival; promoting local, seasonal food, traditional preservation techniques and the complexities od good gut health. This beginner's class will give you a taster for three deliciously easy and vgan Do-It-Yourself styles using surplus ingredients.

Trainer: Sean Roy Parker

Artist and fermentation enthusiast based in South London. Running food projects for Brixton Pound, including their award-winning pay-what-you-can café using surplus food. Leading fermenting and pickling workshops across the UK for 3 years, promoting good gut health, diet diversification and waste reduction, particuarly to low-income locals and adults with learning disabilities. Currently a Feeding the City Food Advisor for Sustain.
