So you want to get going with fermentation but aren’t sure where to start. There are so many benefits to fermented foods. They keep our digestive tract in tip-top condition, by adding B vitamins. This means that our immune system is working well. Did you know that approximately 80% of the immune system lives in the gastrointestinal tract? Fermented foods also make sure we are running on a full tank and bring a whole host of anti ageing benefits. What’s not to love?

Fermentation is a forgotten art but it is one that benefits our bodies immensely. Many cultures incorporate fermented foods into their diet. We need fermented foods to function optimally. This workshop will introduce you to the art of fermenting condiments, cheese and drinks. There will be lots of tasters along the way and, of course, lunch will be provided. A raw vegan one at that.

Your investment in the day will give you the confidence and the knowledge to make fermented foods at home to keep you and your family healthy.

We will look at the different types of fermentation.

Foods we should also be including in our diet are:

  • Sauerkraut
  • Kimchi
  • Pickled Veggies
  • Fermented Plant Based Cheeses
  • Water Kefir
  • Apple Cider Vinegar

Your raw vegan lunch which will include some fermented foods to inspire you to try your own recipes at home.

On the day you will make you own jar of Sauerkraut to take away and mature at home. You’ll be provided with all the ingredients you need to get going including a lovely kilner jar.

If you’ve never heard of kefir, then you are in a for a treat. I will show you how to make this delicious and tasty drink and how to flavour it. You will receive a free starter pack of water kefir grains along with instruction sheet so you can make your own delicious kefir drinks at home. I’ll show you how to look after to them to make sure that they keep you supplied with this delicious and healthful drink. I will also be incorporating some very special essential oils.

Learn about the many uses of apple cider vinegar and how to make your own for very little cost. This should be a staple in everyone’s home.

Once you’ve tried fermented foods and realise how simply they can be made at home, you’ll be eating them everyday, that’s guaranteed.
