FERN BRADY: AUTISTIC BIKINI QUEEN

Following a sold out tour across Europe and Australia in 2019 and her most recent BBC stand up special Power & Chaos, Fern Brady brings her fifth solo show Brain on a nationwide tour.

One of the UK’s most exciting comedians, Fern Brady is heading out on a nationwide tour of her fifth solo show Autistic Bikini Queen. This comes hot off the heels of her previous sell out show “Power & Chaos” which was filmed as a special and broadcast on BBC One. She also co-hosts the hit BBC Podcast “Wheel of Misfortune” where she discovers and shares embarrassing moments from the general public and celebrity guests.

Fern has been regularly appearing on shows such as Don’t Hate the Playaz (Itv2), Stand Up for Live Comedy (BBC Three), Live from the BBC (BBC Two), Live from the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One), Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2) and Live at the Apollo (BBC2) (the first Scottish woman to do so). As a result Fern is one of the UK’s hottest comedy stars. Known for being totally unique and completely fearless, her caustic wit, exceptional writing and electric stage craft has made Fern one of the UK’s hottest comedy stars.

Other credits 8 Out of 10 Cats, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and Seann Walsh’s Late Night Comedy Spectacular. Fern has also appeared multiple times on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Now Show & BBC Scotland’s political panel show Breaking the News. Brady wrote a sitcom pilot for BBC Three (Radges) which has since been optioned by BBC Worldwide and sold to Snapchat in the US. Other US credits include her stand up album Male Comedienne which was released as an album in the US.

As seen on Live at the Apollo, Frankie Boyle's New World Order, Roast Battle, Russell Howard, Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club. As heard on BBC Sound's Wheel of Misfortune podcast, the News Quiz and the Now Show.

What the press have said about Fern Brady

Scotsman - "She’s absolutely fearless – there’s nowhere she won’t go and nothing she won’t say on stage and she’ll switch from snarling and menacing to sweet and girlish in an instant. It’s a killer combination"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The List - ‘An astounding hour’

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Skinny - ‘Quick-witted acerbic stand-up from a future household name… tough-talking and packed with don’t-give-a-shit honesty’’

★ ★ ★ ★ Fest - ‘Solid gold material on top of a beautifully brutal turn of phrase’

★ ★ ★ ★ Evening Standard - She is distinctively acerbic and scathing but, most importantly, hugely entertaining too.

Special Guest Alison Spittle

Web: Alison Spittle ~ Facebook: Alison Spittle

Alison has appeared on television a few times, enough times for her mam to tell strangers that she works for RTE (she doesn’t), not enough times for her to get a free drink. She has appeared on Republic of Telly and RTE’s New Comedy Awards.

She was a team captain on a panel show for RTE 2 called Choose or Lose. A TV presenter for RTE’s coverage of Electric Picnic in 2015. A talking head on the year that’s in it. She has a new chat show called the Alison Spittle show with guests such as Tara Flynn, Aidan Power and Kevin McGahern.

She performed at the Vodafone Comedy Festival in the Iveagh Gardens and performed her show Alison Spittle Needs an Agent to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Dublin Fringe.

Her new show Alison Spittle discovers Hawaii had a full sell out run at First Fortnight and was nominated for two awards, Little gem award for best show under an hour and the first fortnight award for destigmatizing mental health.

She’s a regular columnist for headstuff.org and UCD university observer. Her article caused a kerfuffle, so much so she trended on Twitter in Ireland and appeared on Joe Duffy’s Liveline, guess which one impressed her mum?
