Description

Join us for a weekend of free talks and performances to celebrate the ancient history and heritage of Whitworth and the Spodden Valley

Spodden Valley is teeming with the remains of lives lived long ago - from ruined villages and old monuments, to traces of the ancient hunter-gathers who once stalked this land.

Curious about the past? Want to learn more about the history on your doorstep? Whitworth Museum is hosting a special weekend of events to celebrate all the amazing history and heritage that the area has to offer!

It's the Spodden Valley Revealed contribution to the Festival of Archaeology, and will celebrate the Spodden Valley Revealed Ecomuseum being created by Mid Pennine Arts and local partners (with help from DigVentures!) that will link some of these remarkable ancient sites via a new greenway route, so that everyone can enjoy them on a grand day out.

Come and celebrate with us - book your tickets now to enjoy a weekend of FREE history talks and activities!
