FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE 2016: AN INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE:
EVENING EVENT AT DUNDAS GALLERY
Architecture in the context of Landscape: An Exhibition and Awards Event
The Committee of the Landscape Institute Scotland is pleased to announce an exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh which will run at about the same time as the finale of the Festival of Architecture 2016.
The purpose is to showcase Landscape Institute Scotland’s members’ work by celebrating the balance between architecture and landscape, underlining the links between the disciplines. The emphasis is on architecture in the context of landscape.
Material for the exhibition can be historical or contemporary, completed, projected or theoretical. Media can be painting, drawing, photography or mixed media. Entries may be freshly prepared or past work, chosen by you to demonstrate what is important, relevant or of interest as a combination of architecture and landscape. The brief can be downloaded here.
We hope there will be many entries to this exhibition which is open to LIS members (individuals and companies) and landscape design students. There is no entrance fee and the only prize follows a popular vote open to visitors to the exhibition.
Popular Prize Award and Evening Event
The exhibition will be the venue for a drinks event from 6.30 – 8.30 pm on the evening of 8th December for entrants and guests with the Landscape Institute’s new CEO and the popular prize of £150.00 will be awarded. Please indicate your attendance with number of guests on the Eventbrite page during registration.
This will be a great opportunity for participants, guests and visitors to view the display, network with colleagues and chat with friends, celebrating Landscape Institute Scotland’s contribution to the Year of Architecture and the festive season.
Expressions of interest must be made via a EventBrite registration by 25th November.
