Description

Does Economics Care About the Future?
with Mirabelle Muûls, Aditi Sahni, Alex Teytelboym, Kees Vendrik, Dimitri Zenghelis and Margaret Heffernan (chair)

Thu 8 November 2018, 20:00-21:30
We The Curious
£9 / £6.50

Keynes famously said we’re all dead in the long run. We face major intergenerational problems, a housing crisis, automation of many traditional jobs, climate change, amongst many other issues – all of which will require longterm planning and delivery over many decades. How do we plan for the long-term beyond electoral cycles and annual business reporting? Is sustainable growth possible?

The panel, chaired by Margaret Heffernan, includes Mirabelle Muûls (Imperial College/London School of Economics), Aditi Sahni (Vivid Economics), Alex Teytelboym (University of Oxford), Kees Vendrik (Triodos Bank) and Dimitri Zenghelis (London School of Economics).

Bristol Festival of Economics is presented in association with Triodos Bank.

This event is in association with the Economics Network and the Royal Economic Society.
