Unleash your everyday creativity by designing a tote bag that’s totally you! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll customise your own fabric tote (provided by us) using fabric paints, dyeing techniques, and other playful materials. No experience needed - Just bring your imagination and get stuck in!

About Magdalena Kij

Magdalena Kij (known as Maggie Stick or Dj Try) is a Polish multidisciplinary artist based in Wigan with a studio at Rogue Artist's Studios in Manchester. Her multidisciplinary practice explores identity and transformation through performance, drawing, sound, masks, installation and participatory art to engage and provoke the audience. Magdalena has showcased her work in the UK, Poland and Thailand.

Where is the festival based?

Where is the workshop based?

Do I need to book a ticket?

Yes. The workshop is free to attend but we can only have space for a set number of participants. Please book one ticket per person attending.

Is the festival wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Mesnes Park is wheelchair accessible and the Playshack, the Bandstand and The Pavilion are accessible by both ramp and steps.

Is there an age limit?

This workshop is for adults (18+) only.

Are there toilet facilities?

There is an accessible toilet in the Playshack nearby to where the workshop will take place. There are also toilets in The Pavilion Cafe close by in the park.

Travelling by car?

There are several free and paid car parks around Wigan town centre. The closest car park is situated here: Hindley Walk, Wigan, WN1 1QP (0.4 miles / 10 minute walk). Alternatively, 65 Water St, Wigan WN1 1XD (0.5 miles / 11 minute walk). Both car are free on weekends.

Travelling by public transport?

If you are travelling by bus: Wigan Bus Station is a 0.5 mile / 11 minute walk away. If you are travelling by train: Wigan Wallgate Train Station is a 0.8 mile / 18 minute walk away and Wigan North Western Train Station is a 0.9 mile / 19 minute walk away.

Where can I get refreshments?

The Festival will not be providing any food or drink but you can visit The Pavilion Cafe close by for sandwiches, cakes, ice cream and hot and cold drinks.
