£4.50 PARTNER RATE is for staff, students or members at the following organisations: Arts Council England, Bristol City Council, Business West, University of Bristol and UWE.

Srećko Horvat, a leading European philosopher at the forefront of the European left and one of the founders of the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025, discusses his new book, a radical manifesto for hope in democracy, union and internationalism: Poetry from the Future.

Among the questions he asks are: What is democracy? Have our democratic societies turned into a form of totalitarianism? If so, how do they get away with it?

The past is forgotten, and the future is without hope. Dystopia has become a reality. Capitalism and historical revisionism are part of the fabric of this new world of normalised apocalyptic politics. Horvat argues our passivity is guaranteed if we believe there is no future.
