Closing event of European Union-funded Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership project entitled Cross-border Intercultural and Societal entrepreneurs

FESTIVAL OF LEARNING AND EXPERIENCE EXCHANGE
for Adult Educators - trainers, advisers, teachers, lecturers, coaches - working with migrants and refugees

Official launch of Curriculum, Competence Self-Assessment and Social Micro-Indicator frameworks entitled ‘Migrants and Refugees as Re-Builders’, to aid adult educators who are working with migrants and refugees towards their inclusion and economic integration.

Over the course of the past three years Initiatives of Change (IofC) UK has had the privilege of leading and working with:

Kista Folkhögskola, a Muslim community college in a Stockholm suburb, Sweden
Hasan Kalyoncu University, based in the city of Gaziantep, near the Syrian border, Turkey and
Progestión, a charity that provides services to migrants in Madrid, Spain
Many migrants and refugees individuals and organisations whose advice and experience has been invaluable.

There are two opportunities to take part:

Thursday 15 August: 10.30 for 11.00, ending at 16.00 (including lunch):
Official launch of educational resources, guest speakers, facilitated conversation and exchange of experiences related to inclusion and economic integration.

Friday 16 August: Supper at 18.00 for 19.00 start, ending at 22.00:
Official launch of educational resources, exchange of experiences and stories of inclusion and economic integration.

Venue: Initiatives of Change UK, 24 Greencoat Place, London SW1P 1RD (near Victoria Station)

These events will be an opportunity to:
  • Learn about new educational resources for the education of migrants and refugees
  • Exchange best practices about inclusion and economic integration of migrants and refugees from Sweden, Spain, Turkey and United Kingdom
  • Share new insights and recommendations for educational policy for inclusion and economic integration within host communities and countries of origin
Speakers:
  • International guests from IOM (International Organization of Migration), Oxfam International and WHO (World Health Organization), from Turkey, UK, Sweden and Spain
  • Members of the International Advisory Group of the Erasmus+ project
  • Adult educators and diaspora members linked to the project.
Interest groups:
  • Adult educators and diaspora members linked to education for inclusion
  • Policy-makers, local authorities and members of parliament whose responsibilities include the inclusion of migrants and refugees
  • National and international staff of local and international organizations dealing with migration
  • Diaspora members living in the UK.
Event organised in collaboration with:

  • The International Centre for Eritrean Refugees and Asylum Seekers, ICERAS
  • Eritrean Education & Publication Trust, EEPT
