Event description

Description

Bedford Indian community (BIC) was initially created during 2010 on the back of BCoF (Bedford Council of
Faiths) and Bedford BID’s agenda of holding a Diwali Festival in Bedford.
Since then Bedford Indian Community has been successfully organising the FoL (Festival of Lights) event
and continues to grow strength to strength.
The FoL event aims to represent an International celebration which symbolises the victory of good over
evil. The underlying goal has always been to bring together the diverse communities in and around
Bedfordshire, regardless of their backgrounds, faiths, and countries of origin.
We have been working very hard in planning each year’s event with the help of local communities, groups,
and dedicated individuals. As you know in planning such events, the need for a strong diverse team is very
important, who are committed to deliver a wonderful and memorable event.
Many of the tasks leading up to the day of the event need proactive members and volunteers to help
achieve our collective goal of furthering the Indian community in Bedfordshire.
Bearing this in mind; we, as BIC, are reaching out to you and your community and welcome you to come
forward, be a part of BIC and get involved. There are many ways in which you can provide support to BIC,
such as: providing supportive volunteers, promoting the event to your community members, raising
funds/donations, recommending good stage performers from your own communities and groups and
providing any kind of support (direct or indirect).
