Event description

Description

*** Ticket bookings go live on Tuesday 6 June at 8pm. Due to the popularity of the workshops we can only allow two Festival of Stuff workshop bookings per person. ***

It obsesses us because we can't control it - but using code we can learn to measure and analyse the weather, and even to some extent predict it. Join the Institute of Making’s technicians to create a low-cost atmospheric pressure sensor allowing you to put together your very own weather station, with fun visual features driven by servo motors. You will connect an atmospheric pressure sensor, a wooden station kit and motors to an Arduino compatible micro controller and write a program to control it.

Please bring a Windows or OSX Mac laptop with you, as you will need this for programming the chip. You will learn how to set up the Arduino programming environment and write code, if you have not done this before.

The masterclass will be run by creative technologist George Walker, one of our technicians and part of the team behind OhBot (http://www.ohbot.co.uk).

This workshop is part of the Festival of Stuff.
