All Together Cumbria in association with Lakes College and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure are delighted to be hosting a Festival of Work

About this event

The Festival of Work will be showcasing the local employment opportunities available across the Construction, Engineering and Nuclear sectors and the pathways to progressing a successful career.

As well as a range of stands from employers and career support organisations, there will be a programme of interactive sessions to provide an insight into the wide range of careers available within Construction, Engineering and Nuclear.

On the order form we will be gathering some information on the following:

An indication of whether you would like to bring a stand to the Festival of Work (free of charge) and whether you would like power to be available at the stand. Please note that we can’t guarantee the availability of power at your stand, however we will endeavour to make this possible subject to the limitations of the layout and availability of sockets.

In order to promote the Festival of Work we would like to highlight the number of vacancies that will be able on the day e.g. ‘over 500 vacancies available’. There will be a question asking you for the approximate number of vacancies that you are likely to have at the time of the Festival of Work to assist with this. Please note that the number of vacancies will not be attributed to individual organisations – only the total across all participants.

During the Festival of Work there will be a range of 45 minute workshop sessions aimed at providing attendees an insight into the career opportunities available within Construction, Engineering and Nuclear. Sessions can also be provided to assist attendees to secure a vacancy such as interview techniques, CV writing, identifying transferable skills etc.

The sessions between 10am and 2pm will be aimed at secondary school students (aged 11-16) whilst the sessions after 2pm will be aimed at adults. There will be question asking whether you would like to contribute to the event by hosting a workshop activity. If you would we will also ask you to please outline your idea for a workshop activity on the order form.

If you have indicated that you could host a workshop session, we will make contact to progress.

We are seeking sponsorship of the Festival of Work at a cost of £1,000. The sponsorship is to help cover the costs of the Festival of Work and monies will be allocated in the first instance to cover the cost of school transport to the Festival of Work, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to participation for schools. Sponsorship will be recognised in the Festival of Work publicity and literature including posters, press releases and social media. Meanwhile sponsors will have the opportunity to contribute promotional/informational items to a delegate pack that will be issued to all attendees. The order form will ask whether your organisation would like to sponsor the Festival of Work at a cost of £1,000.

Thank you for registering to participate in the Festival of Work
