About this event
The Events Research Programme piloted events such as the FA Cup Final and BRIT Awards to study COVID-19 risks and mitigations. This session will explore the findings of the programme.
Researchers and officials who worked on the Events Research Programme will provide an overview of the research undertaken, challenges faced and findings from this innovative and high profile programme. This will be followed by a panel Q&A with the team.
The session will include:

- Ventilation study: using CO2 monitors to proxy risks of Covid transmission - Prof Malcolm Cook / Dr. Liora Malki-Epshtein (Loughborough Uni / UCL)
- Movement study: using camera footage to explore movement, density and interactions within venues - Simon Owen and Steve Gwynne (Movement Strategies)
- Transmission study: using a self-control case series study to estimate higher transmission risk from attending events - Prof Tom Rodden (DCMS Chief Scientific Advisor)
