Join us on Saturday 6th December 10-12.30pm at Saxon Barn in Leonard Stanley, near Stroud, for a unique workshop where you'll learn how to make your very own mosaic piece to take home.
During this delightfully festive workshop you’ll create a stunning mosaic wreath or decorations that are sure to become a cherished holiday heirlooms! This isn’t just any wreath - it's a piece of art you can proudly display year after year, and best of all, it won’t wilt away after a few weeks like traditional foliage.
Alternatively, pick from a selection of festive shapes to create some hanging decorations for your tree. Shapes include moons, starts, stockings, gingerbread and round baubles. We will aim to make around three in the time.
You’ll start with a sturdy MDF wreath base, which you can deck out with an array of gorgeous ceramic tiles, shimmering glass tiles, and even some charming vintage china.
To add that extra touch, you can choose from a variety of ribbons to hang your wreath at home, and create a lovely bow if you wish. I will provide some fun ceramic shapes to inspire your design, but I’ll also guide you through the process of cutting tiles to personalise your creation. Absolutely no previous experience is required!
Many of our workshop participants find themselves in a wonderfully meditative state as they master the mosaic technique, making this the perfect escape from the holiday hustle and bustle!
You’ll go away with your finished mosaic pieces and a goodie bag featuring all you’ll need to grout your piece at home.
Don't worry if you're new to mosaic- this activity is perfect for beginners! You'll have a variety of glossy and matt tiles as well as glass and ceramic shapes to create a mosaic artwork to reflect your style.
The process of cutting and placing tiles is not only fun but also therapeutic, allowing you to relax and express your creativity. This workshop is perfect for a little crafty get together with family or friends or come solo and meet some new people!
You’ll go away with a goodie bag including all you need to grout and finish your piece at home.
Tea and coffee are provided along with mince pies to get in the festive mood.
