The festive season is coming and so is the time for snuggly blankets, snowflakes and frosted windows and jolly gingerbread treats. Come and join us for an evening of festive fun and crafts at our winter rag wreath making workshop.
Stories are everywhere and a part of everyone. We celebrate stories here at Grimm & Co. every day and seasonal traditions are continued through the telling of family stories and passing down of tales and memories. Your wreath will carry a story that's personal to you and your family; it could be a memory, a favourite song, special dates or names of family members. You might leave space on your ribbon to add to it each year when the first frost comes and the evergreens are brought indoors, then look back on your thoughts as part of a new tradition.
Hosted by the Head Shop Elf, you will be welcomed into our Apothecary at the Emporium of Stories, offered a mulled wine or spiced apple juice and a mince pie, and taken to our stunning Cliffhanger Castle space to begin the workshop for a festive crafting session. During this 2-hour session we will show you, step-by-step how, to create your own woollen rag wreath provided by the Yorkshire Blanket Co.
A family founded and run business, they use redundant yarns leftover at the end of each week from mills in Yorkshire, saving them from landfill and keeping the local weaving traditions alive. Not only will you have created a beautiful, re-usable decorative wreath to bring out and showcase year after year, you will add a personal touch with the addition of a small story written on a ribbon of fabric tied to your wreath.
There will be an opportunity to purchase treats for the upcoming gifting season in our Apothecary shop before the session starts and order additional hot drinks like mint or Bailey's hot chocolate, teas and coffees and counter items such as seasonal cakes and bakes throughout the event.
