Overview

Join our SPOT Festive Workshop Series & Japanese artist Kanae Park for a Japanese Calligraphy session and learn thoughtful characters.

Join Japanese artist Kanae for a calm and creative 90 minutes workshop of Japanese calligraphy, where you’ll learn to write beautiful, meaningful characters and create a unique framed artwork — perfect as a handmade gift for someone special this season.

You’ll be gently guided step-by-step through traditional brush techniques using sumi ink and Japanese paper. Then, you’ll choose an inspiring word — such as love (愛), peace (和), hope (希望), or light (光) — and create your own finished piece, ready to frame and wrap as a thoughtful present.

We’ll end with a red seal moment, where you’ll mark your artwork with your own initials in the traditional way.

This mindful creative session is designed to support wellbeing and relaxation — a chance to pause during the busy season, focus on each brushstroke, and find calm through art.

No experience is needed — just curiosity and the joy of creating something meaningful. All materials (including a small frame) are provided, and you’ll leave with a beautiful, gift-ready artwork.

There are 3 sessions to choose from on Sunday 14th December:
11am - 12.30pm
12.45pm - 1.15pm
2pm - 3.30pm
