Event description

Description

We are very excited to invite you to our Festive Wreath Making Workshops on the Farm, we hope to welcome you along soon! Hosted by me (Hannah Miller) and Annette Miller (my expert mum) between us we have many years experience making wreaths and using beautiful, fresh seasonal materials in plenty of time for Christmas.

Warmed mulled wine or hot chocolate will welcome you with the smell of freshly baked mince pies for you to enjoy while we firstly get to know you and give a brief demonstration on how to make a traditional moss based wreath.

There will be lots of examples to give inspiration and ideas and we will then supply everything you need to create your own beautiful wreath to take home to display or gift. From fir and holly to ivy and other seasonal foliage each wreath will be as unique as you. We will also have a huge selection of decorations to adorn your wreath including dried fruit, chillies and spices, pine cones, baubles, ribbon and bows and much more.

Weather dependent we will be based in the Barn, we do recommend you wear old warm clothes, and bring gardening gloves and secateurs if you have some, though we will have some to loan.

Refreshments are included in the price, as are all the materials.

The cost is £30 per person and spaces currently limmited, to secure your place please book and pay your deposit of £10 via Eventbrite on the date you want with the remaining £20 being paid on the day (cash, cheque or paypal)

Any questions or queries please contact me on 07709 989582 or email hmiller2288@gmail.com. I can also take bookings off-line if you don't have access to a computer.

You can also purchase as a gift and I can send a certificate to you and if you have a party of 6 or more we can arrange a private workshop for you and your friends either at our farm or with you.

Please check out and follow our Facebook page for ideas and updates, and look out for our Willow Weaving workshops to be added soon.

FAQs

What should I wear and bring?

We recommend that you wear warm clothes, and if it is particularly cold, a warm hat too. Weilles or walking boots are best for the farm as it can get muddy when the weather is particularly wet. close fitting gardening gloves are recomended, and if you have your own secateurs you may like to bring those too. If you are attending and evening workshop, please bring a torch as car park lighting will be minimal. Mulled wine, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and decaf options will be available as well as homemade mince pies and other snacks and treats. We may even make some soup and bread if it is particularly cold. We will give you a bin bag to lay your wreath on to take it home in the car if you need one but you may want to bring something more robust to protect your car.

Are the workshops suitable for under 18 year olds?

All participants 17 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult 18 or over. We think that most young people 14 years and older will be able to make their own wreath with little extra support and as long as the parent/guardian remains responsible for them while on site (a working farm) they are very welcome though please do email/phone me to let me know that we are expecting you. We do not recomend this course for children under 14 years old however please do contact me to discuss further if there is lots of interest we may be able to run an alternative activity.
