ABOUT THE ACT:

Jo Harrop pays tribute to Peggy Lee, one of the greatest exponents of Torch Song - those unforgettable laments for unrequited or lost loves. With Alex Webb (piano), Neville Malcolm (bass), Pete Hill (drums) and special guest Tony Kofi (alto sax), the creamy-voiced Harrop delivers moving renditions of Peggy Lee classics as well as swinging out on other great songs from the canon.

Peggy Lee (May 26, 1920 – January 21, 2002) was one of the great figures of jazz and American popular song, with a career spanning six decades. She wrote and sang for Disney’s ‘Lady And The Tramp’ as well as appearing in the gritty drama ‘Pete Kelly’s Blues’ and had a string of hits stretching from her early days with Benny Goodman until the 1990s. Songs featured in the show include Peggy Lee’s 'Fever', 'Why Don’t You Do Right' and 'The Folks Who Live On The Hill'.
