About this event

Independent Access to Work experts, Sue Hayman and Jane Winton from Team Sunflower will explain what Access to Work is, and how it can help cover your access costs as a freelancer.

Access to Work has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons: waiting times for a decision are even longer, and it's getting harder and harder to secure funding at the level needed to adequately cover access support.

Sue and Jane will give you the latest updates and best ways to navigate the system as it currently stands.

Who is this for?

  • Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent creatives who work in, or want to work in, film, TV and/or video production.

What will happen?

In this session, Team Sunflower will go through

  • What Access to Work is
  • What support Access to Work can fund, and how to apply
  • Best way to navigate current challenges with Access to Work

Format

  • This will be an interactive online workshop
  • We may use breakout rooms for small group discussions
  • You do not have to join a breakout room if you don't want to
  • People can ask questions in the Q&A section
  • People can also ask questions by using the raise hand button.

Beacon Films defines the screen industry in it's broadest sense; from those engaged in the process of film and TV productions at every level to individual videographers working as self-shooters; from feature films and high end drama, to productions for museums, galleries and corporate organisations.

In the spirit of 'nothing about us without us', at each meeting we survey attendees to find out what proportion identify as Deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent.
