South West London FGM Learning Morning to mark the International Day of zero tolerance for female genital mutilation 2020.

About this Event

On Monday, 3rd February the South West BCU boroughs will highlight the importance of the campaign to have zero tolerance for female genital mutilation.

The morning will consist of a variety of speakers, tentative agenda:

Leethen Bartholomew, Head of The National FGM Centre will talk about Myths and Facts

Allen Davis, Inspector – Rape and Harmful Practices Partnership Team - Will talk about the law and the first FGM Prosecution

The Team from the Calabash Clinic (Croydon FGM Clinic) will talk about health perspective and about the clinic/referral pathways

Iranian & Kurdish Women's Organisation will talk about the prevalence of FGM in the Middle East and North Africa and how it is used as a form of honour based violence.

Q&A Panel with all speakers

This learning morning is open to all professionals from within Kingston, Richmond, Wandsworth & Merton.
