Fibroid Focus on Treatment

The Lake Foundation (sponsored by BHW) is delighted to invite you to attend its event 'Fibroid Focus' where we will be focusing on the treatment of fibroids. At this event you will hear from experts in the field discussing all treatment options including natural ways of managing the symptoms of fibroids.
Speaking at this event will be Mr Rajiv Varma, a consultant gynaecologist, who will be provide an overview of the treatment options available on the NHS, their pros and cons and what steps to take to ensure you're getting the best treatment possible. You will also hear from Leah Salmon, The Naturally You Coach, who will outline the impact of diet on fibroids and how a healthy diet can reduce your risk and help in the treatment and prevention of fibroids. Lillian Lartey will discuss the power of exercise in preventing and managing the symptoms of fibroids, Olivia Haltman will look at a sometimes forgotten area for fibroids patients, how to manage the psychological impact and Patricia Ferguson will discuss the use of herbal remedies in treating the symptoms of fibroids.
Additionally we'll have some great organisations exhibiting on the day so you can find out more about women's health in general. Join us on 30th July 2016 for an informative, empowering session. Book early to avoid disappointment, spaces are limited.

Patricia Ferguson is a Medical Herbalist and a member of the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP); a governing body for qualified medical herbalists. She is a firm believer that you have the power to make profound changes and through her work she helps people resolve ongoing health problems. She has not only published several articles, but has served as health expert for Holland & Barrett’s Healthy magazine. At a local level, she regularly dispenses health advice in a health food shop. You can find a wealth of information on medicinal herbs and living food on Patricia’s blog The Living Pharmacy.
Olivia Haltman is a bilingual (English and Dutch) accredited Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and an EMDR Practitioner. She is passionate about self development and has experience of working with people from different backgrounds. She takes a holistic approach to her clients believing that no one approach fits all. She established her own practice, OHServices in 2007 where she provides Counselling, various workshops, psychological employment support and facilitates therapy groups. She is a member of the BACP and EMDR Association UK & Ireland and specialises in a number of areas including identity issues, stress management, phobias, mindfulness, cultural issues, grief, DV & sexual abuse and post traumatic stress, just to name a few.
Lillian Lartey is the founder and CEO of I Want My Body Back. Lillian is a Health Fitness Expert, and Body Coach with 17 years experience. She specialises in helping women who are fed up feeling fat, tired and in pain, to look better, feel fitter, have more energy, and be pain free. The women Lillian helps tend to carry weight around their tummy, feel bloated, low in energy and have some form of back, neck, shoulder, knee or hip pain. As a result of working with Lillian, her clients have a boost of energy, their tummy goes down, they get rid of pain and feel healthy.
Leah Salmon, The Naturally You Coach is a speaker coach, author and natural health enthusiast. Leah has worked with people of all ages worldwide over the past 9 years, helping them to use their foods, natural remedies, lifestyle changes and their mindset to boost their health. Leah has supported over 500 people in group and private one-to-one coaching sessions, seminars, talks and workshops and is the bestselling author of six books, has authored 150 articles and created 50 videos.

Rajiv Varma is a consultant gynaecologist at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex. He has a broad skill base and deals with common gynaecological complaints along with routine check-ups. Mr Varma carries out the latest procedures, including anterior and posterior repairs and infracoccygealsacropexy. He has a specialist interest and depth of experience in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery.
