Share FIDE Open

Event Details

Time Control: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for all remaining moves, with a 30 second increment from move 1. Default time: 1 hour after scheduled start time.

Who Can Enter?: Anyone can enter the FIDE Open. The organisers will invite a minimum of 15 Grandmasters. Non English players must provide their FIDE Identification Number (FIN) at the time of entry. If you do not have a FIN, you must apply to your own federation for a FIN.

Byes: Players can take up to 2 half point byes between rounds 1-8 provided they are requested before the end of the previous round.

Registration: Players must register in advance of the FIDE Open, in one of the following ways:
- In person at the London Chess Centre, 44 Baker Street, W1U 7RT, from 12:00 to 18:00 on Friday 1st December, or
- By e-mail, sent to festival@londonchessclassic.com on Friday 1st December, before 18:00
Do not use any other e-mail address you may have for one of the event organisers, as the people who access them will not necessarily be accessing e-mails as the publication deadline approaches. Players who do not register will not be included in the published pairings for Round 1. The highest placed eligible player in the FIDE Open not already qualified will qualify for the 2018 British Championship. Pairings Published for each round: Midnight for all rounds except round 3 which will be published as soon as available.
