Fields and changing times - Talk by Paul Costain

Paul Costain takes us on a tour of Moorhouse Farm and the Isle of Man's farming history.

We will be collecting £7.50 on the door. If you could pay with cash, as we don't have a card machine. Refreshments will be served during or after the talk.

Paul will take us on a deeper look at Moorhouse Farm, its ties to the Ballagawne quarterland, and its roots in the old treen of Sansan to learn more about Manx history.

Farmer Paul Costain, Captain of the Parish of Rushen, talks about how farming has changed on the Isle of Man over time, from communal treen farming in the past to the modern methods we use today. He also talks about the island's sacred and social past. The blend of Manx heritage and traditions is evident in both farming practices and folklore.
