NHS Improvement is holding the fifth annual elective care conference on Thursday 4 May 2017.

This year’s conference will focus on how to manage and improve elective care services when faced with growing waiting lists. The event will look at the system wide and local solutions that are there to help in the delivery of elective care services for patients.

The conference will bring together all those involved in the operational/clinical delivery of elective care, and is an opportunity to share your experiences and learn from others as well as hear about the tools and techniques available to help improve services.

This is a very practical event with lots of interaction between speakers and delegates. In addition, you will be able to speak to the Elective Care Improvement Team about issues that you need help with, and discuss how they are able to support you.

Registration is from 9am; the full programme starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm. Each organisation can have a maximum of two delegates attending.

Workshops

As well as hearing from keynote speakers you will attend a number of learning workshops. Most of them will offer examples from NHS trusts and foundation trusts and will cover topics such as:
  • maximising the benefits and functionality of the e-referrals system
  • using data to identify issues and to determine the solutions to overcome them
  • effective processes to establish operational improvements in cancers services
  • progress and experiences so far on the 28 day faster diagnosis cancer target
  • managing specialty performance and efficiency
  • using risk stratification to manage clinical risk on high volume of patients and long waiting lists
  • innovations in trauma and orthopaedics to improve access to treatment
