Fight for Home Festival
Date and time
'Fight for Home Festival' brings together people fighting for a safe, secure and affordable home - and one that doesn't cost us the earth.
About this event
A home is everything and should be a human right.
But in Birmingham and beyond, people are being denied this basic fundamental need.
Birmingham Fair Housing Campaign has organised a 'Fight for Home Festival' to bring people together in a grass-roots space to hear from campaigners fighting for 'home' .
It will be an opportunity to hear from campaigners fighting for: housing rights, eco-housing, refugee rights, traveller rights, climate justice, and to understand how these are all inter-linked.
Speakers include:
Clare Caudery - Birmingham Fair Housing Campaign
John Christophers – Zero Carbon Housing Campaigner
Espoir Njei - Asylum Rights Activist
Salman Mirza - Migrant Voice
Abiline McShane – GRT Activist & Campaigner
Druids Heath and Monyhull Forum – Campaign Against Gentrification
Olly Armstrong – Birmingham Climate Justice Coalition & Breathe
And others.
Exhibition: Extracts from ‘Moving Stories’ by Jayne Murray - an art project with residents experiencing Clearance in Druids Heath.
