Event description
A panel discussion on minimising online harms by incentivising good content online and changing the attention economy for good.

About this Event

Demos’ recent report, Quality Control, found that much of the harm caused as a result of social media use is down to the substance rather than the style of content now available.  Yet how do we rebalance the attention economy to incentivise and reward good content, and keep harmful content off our screens?

This event will bring together digital leaders, policymakers and hundreds of years of experience from the publishing industry to explore how we set the stage for a healthy online content ecosystem.

Panellists:

  • Ian Lucas MP, member, DCMS Select Committee
  • Alex Krasodomski-Jones, Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media, Demos (Chair)
  • Dan Conway, Director of External Affairs, Publishers Association
  • Chloe Colliver, Head of Digital Research, ISD

Date: Wednesday 23rd October

Time: 6:45 - 8pm

Venue: The Council Room,

One Great George Street
