We are a local charity based in Ashford that help dads that have been through or are going through a relationship breakdown and we aim to improve the outcome for the children of separated parents. We actively encourage co-parenting and we provide continued support by offering 1-1 mentoring, support group meetings, mental health counselling, phone helpline service, family court support and we have our own direct Barrister representation service. We also have our own family liason officer that works within schools to try and reduce conflict between separated parents.
Many single parents find it hard to adjust to life without their whole family unit and to our knowledge, we believe that we are the only charity of it's kind to provide such a supportive service. Many of our dads come to us suffering from depression, suicidal thoughts and are victims of emotional, controlling and or physical abuse and often desperate to have more involvement with their children's lives. We believe that in most circumstances, both mum and dad are instrumental in being involved in their childrens' lives and that with a stable environment in both homes, the child is far more likely to go on and thrive.
would be this good but thanks to all your hard work and support I feel I have my life back again. From a very dark place to where things are now never seemed like a reality. Without the help and support of Dad's Unlimited I dread to think how things could have turned out. I am forever grateful to your team for breathing life back into me." A dad
"I thought I knew what I was doing, but I'd lost sight of the fundamental needs of co-parenting successfully and was worrying about the petty stuff. It wasn't healthy for me, my ex or our children and Dads Unlimited support has changed our futures. " A dad
Dads Unlimited is in the unique position of being able to provide a holistic early intervention support service for single dads who feel their lives have collapsed, who are worried about losing contact with their children and who may ultimately feel there is nothing left worth living for."
