The MiraBan Film Pitch Fund + is an exciting opportunity for bold storytellers to secure £500 in funding to support the development, production, post-production, or distribution of their film projects. Powered by MiraBan, the fund is open to short and feature-length narratives, documentaries, and experimental works.
Whether you're an emerging filmmaker or an independent creative with a strong vision, this fund is designed to champion originality, cultural relevance, and creative ambition. Applications must be submitted by either the producer, director, and/or writer.

- From Post-Production to Distribution: When the budget is tight, we're there to support you to complete your film and step into distribution stage (including festival submission expenses).
How to Apply
We’ve kept the application process simple—no lengthy forms required.
All you need to do upload a PDF file with either:
- 500 words for short film treatment or
- 1500 words for feature film treatment
Alternatively, if you prefer, upload a video or audio pitch (up to 2 mins in length)
📌 Gap Funding Applications (for those applying to offset any post-production cost) are encouraged to submit a link to up to 2 minutes of rushes or a scene cut. For those applying for distribution funding, please share the private link with the password for review.
Optional materials:
- Link to a sizzle reel or up to 1-minute of rushes if filming has already started
- Moodboard, Budget Breakdown, or Visual References
Working on more than one project?
MiraBan Film Pitch Fund + ("Plus”) is our way of supporting teams, duos, and multi-talented filmmakers with more than one vision to share. If you’re submitting a second project — either your own or through a teammate (writer, director, or producer) — you can get 50% off the second pitch submission.
Here’s how it works:
- Submit your first project at the regular entry fee
- Your second project (submitted by you or your referred collaborator) qualifies for 50% off
- Just mention each other’s names during submission to activate the discount
Valid for one discounted extra submission per applicant or pair. Available across all deadlines.

Pitching Event
- Finalists will be invited to pitch live on Saturday, December 13, during the MiraBan UK Film Awards 2025 (MUFA25), which will be held at Ealing Picturehouse Cinema.
- As a finalist, you will be granted free access to the MUFA, held at Ealing Picturehouse Cinema on the December 13-14th.
- On December 13th, pitches will be delivered in front of a live audience, including the Festival Director and host whose vote will contribute to the jury’s final decision in selecting the winning pitch.
- Finalists unable to attend in person must submit a video pitch for screening at the event.
As a finalist, you will be required to bring with you:
- A Pitch Deck (use more visuals than words to share your vision and share it in PDF format, based on a PowerPoint or similar tool):
- Up to 5 slides for short films
- Up to 8 slides for feature films
- Film Script (for projects in development and production), or Rough Assembly (for projects in post-production), Final Cut (for projects apply for distribution funding)

The winning project will receive a £500 cash award, announced during the Festival Gala & Awards Ceremony on 14th December 2025.
Frequently asked questions
We support independent fiction projects, including feature films and short films. The primary criterion is that the project is a work of fiction or documentary.
We offer funding of up to £500.
Any independent filmmaker with a fiction project, regardless of prior experience, is welcome to apply. We encourage emerging filmmakers and diverse voices to submit their projects. We strongly encourage individuals who serve as the director, producer, and writer of their project to apply.
Once applications are received, our panel of judges will review each project based on criteria such as originality, storytelling quality, feasibility, and potential impact. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for further discussion or clarification.
The funding can be used for various production-related expenses, including but not limited to equipment rental, location fees, props, costumes, post-production editing, sound design. It cannot be used for distribution expenses.
Once your project is funded, you will receive confirmation along with any necessary paperwork. As a recipient of this funding, you will be required to offer regular updates on the advancement of your work and furnish evidence demonstrating how the funding has been utilised to finalise the film.
The project is and remains entirely yours. We do not claim ownership or rights to your project. If you are a recipient of this funding, you will be required to credit "MiraBan" as associate production company in your project's credits
Yes, filmmakers can submit multiple projects for consideration. However, each project should be submitted as a separate application with a separate submission fee, and each will be evaluated independently.

If shortlisted, you will be invited to pitch in person in front of our festival audience on the 13rd December. We will run an audience poll for people to also contribute to the final winner. If you are unable to attend in person, you can send us a video pitch which will be screened and voted for.
