Description

Are you interested in media and film? Join us to learn filmmaking techniques and get hands on to make your own short film with support from experienced filmmakers Sandi Hughes and Michelle Peterkin-Walker.

In this session, you will learn filmmaking techniques and top tips from Sandi and Michelle then create your own film response to the museum and the question ‘Why is Slavery Remembrance Day Important’, which will be screened at this year’s Slavery Remembrance Day event.

The session will begin with a tour of the museum and a chance to get hands on with objects from our collection and is an unmissable opportunity for anyone interested in Black British history, film and the creative arts.

Event timings:

10.15am arrival, introduction to the museum and our collections

11am-3pm Filmmaking workshop (with break for lunch between 12 and 1pm)
