TALES FROM THE HOOD (1995)

Set in a funeral home in South Central Los Angeles, three gang members arrive to buy drugs but instead encounter the eerie funeral director, Mr. Simms. As he leads them through the mortuary, he recounts four chilling stories tied to the coffins inside: a tale of police brutality and revenge from beyond the grave, a boy haunted by an abusive monster that may be closer to home than it seems, a racist politician confronted by the spirits of murdered slaves, and a violent gang member facing judgment for his crimes. Each story blends supernatural horror with sharp social commentary, exposing the horrors of racism, violence, corruption, and systemic injustice. By the end, the gang members learn that the funeral home itself holds a terrifying truth, and that they have reached not a drug deal, but their own reckoning in the ‘Hood of Hell’.
