About this event

Always wanted to get to grips with that film camera you inherited from your Uncle 12 years ago, but haven't had the chance? Or maybe you're a seasoned pro looking to pick up a few extra tips and tricks?

This one-day as-intensive-as-you'd-like outdoor photo-walk workshop led by film photographer and experienced tutor Stuart Brooks will give you all the tools you need to feel confident within the world of shooting 35mm film, all the while having loads of fun along the way!

Starting the day off with a cosy coffee on Ashton Lane we'll begin laying the ground work, planning the day ahead around what you're looking to get out of the session before quickly getting straight into shooting.

Covering:

How to master your film camera's settings.

How to safely load and rewind your film camera.

How to get the correct exposure.

What different types of film there are.

How to improve your composition.

The sunny 16 rule.

Use of other equipment - when you should use a tripod.

How to create double exposures etc.

The list goes on!

Location:

A meet-up location will be organised prior to the day subject to weather conditions but will typically be situated in Hillhead near the subway stop. - We will then embark on a photo walk and workshop in the west end covering the likes of Kelvingrove and the Botanic Gardens.

What to bring?

Ideally participants will have access to their own 35mm film camera, whether it's an SLR or a point and shoot it doesn't really matter, the best camera in the world is the one you have with you. Alternatively, a 35mm SLR can be provided - a limited number of which are available to borrow for the day.

A FREE roll of film is included with your ticket purchase!

Extra film is encouraged however, tripods are optional, as is any other equipment you see fit!

Dress for the ever-changing weather of the west coast. Something warm is always advised and comfy shoes are a must!
