Film Premiere and Q&A: Simon's Mango Tree The Movie! and Doctor/Nurse Q&A
Event Information
Description
We are Simon's Mango Tree!
We are NHS Doctors and Nurses from Northwick Park (and other) NHS Hospitals in London.
We travel to Ghana twice a year - to Simon's birth village - for 10 days and work under Ghana's Dr Wodah and Chief Kelle's instructions to provide life-changing surgeries for people who otherwise have no access to help.
We also: sponsor teachers;
build classrooms;
provide water;
support the orphanage; ......and much more
And this is Simon's Mango Tree The Movie!
We've teamed up with a professional Cameraman and Director to show Our Week In Ghana in a Movie!
We would LOVE you to come and see Simon's Mango Tree The Movie with us in Central London on Saturday 7th December followed by a Q&A with Simon's Mango Tree and watch Dr Mike, Nurse Simon, Administrator Solange and others battle to repair beachball sized hernias, remove debililtating fibroids and fund life-changing education for builders, teachers and Ghanaian Surgeons. Here's a few Movie clips below: - seeing a hernia patient's life transformed from misery to joy....the difference £200 a year makes to Ghanaian Teacher Eric and schoolchildren....Ghanaian Charles's powerful story....and how Simon's Mango Tree was born.

We use our NHS annual leave and own money to fund our trips to Ghana so we dont need money for that! But Chief Kelle, Dr Wodah and local Ghanaians DO need money for medical equipment and projects Simon's Mango Tree funds under their direction, eg £200 a year per teacher in Guo's schools - that pays for the whole teacher for a year. It's in the Film.
The fundraising bit! - we are raising £8000 to fund the latest projects our Ghanaian partners have identified as the next developments, eg funding accommodation for Nurses so vital Health Clinics can open. Film tickets are between £15-£20 and all funds are absolutely guaranteed to change peoples' lives for the better!
If you dont want to come and see the Movie no worries!! - please consider making a Donation via the Tickets button above - just choose Donations under Tickets.
Thank you so much in advance. Many people in Ghana rely on the help we offer and as Dr Wodah says of a post-operative patient: 'He is a changed man, his self esteem is through the roof and he's enjoying life'....and he's regained his work and livelihood too...... what more could we ask?
