Event description

Description

Described by Sir David Attenborough as ‘the most important documentary of our time’, A Plastic Ocean follows journalist Craig Leeson and free diver Tanya Streeter as they set out to document the global consequences of our disposable lifestyle. An international team of scientists and researchers travel to twenty locations around the world over four years to explore the fragile state of our oceans and uncover alarming truths about plastic pollution. They cover it’s impacts on small islands struggling with the influx of plastic products, human health, bird life and the devastating effects on marine wildlife. The filmmakers seek out projects that strive for change and improvement with immediate effect and far-reaching positive outcomes.

The screening is hosted by Friends of the Earth Taunton and CICCIC Taunton and the café and bar will be open. Doors open at 18.30 and the film starts at 7pm.

Admission is free, but we do ask that you register your interest through Eventbrite. There will be an optional collection towards expenses.
